The message

Peace - Salt Lake prided itself on its hospitality and kindness in opening its arms to the world in 2002. This message will serve as a reminder to other cities that we are all connected as an international community and the ideals we hold as smaller, tight-knit communities apply to all cities, states and countries.

Youth - Kids will be involved in the message by helping to plan and host message-related activities at their schools and communities and by tracking the riders online as they send e-mails, read trip updates, and learn about other experiences in towns along the route.

Environment - The message will be carried exclusively by non-fossil fuel methods (biking, hiking, sailboat, rowboat) to promote the idea that alternative methods of transportation are still important and viable.
